The Building Process

The Natchez Bowl building process starts with green log usually 24” long. I cut or split the log lengthways to get the desires depth of the bowl.

After determining the shape of the bowl I hand chop the inside and underside using my handmade adze.

Drying , sanding and oiling are the final steps. A typical bowl will take between 3 and four months to complete.
